Management of poor sleep hygiene.
"Sleep hygiene" is a term used to describe the habit that influence the way that you sleep. Good sleep hygiene can help you to have a good night's sleep. Some of the following habits might help you to improve your sleep hygiene.
- Avoid work and heated discussions before sleep.
- Avoid caffeine, cola, chocolates within eight hours of bedtime.
- Avoid alcohol within six hours of bedtime.
- Avoid smoking for two hours before bedtime.
- Avoid naps during the day.
- Maintain a regular exercise program but not just before going to bed.
- Consider a light snack before bedtime.
- Consider relaxation exercises, reading, a warm bath or listening to music.
